Clear communication and sales support
The DGNB Navigator supports manufacturers in two ways: It helps defining relevant product characteristics in the context of sustainable construction and providing the associated characteristic values. Predefined performance profiles are available for this. These provide a step-by-step description of the product characteristics which are relevant to sustainable construction for your product category. The basis used is the criteria catalogue of the DGNB certification system.
The DGNB Navigator also provides support in the area of sales. On your product page you have the option to provide comprehensive image material and product brochures as well as all contact details for the responsible persons within your company. You can also provide a link from your website to the relevant detail page of the product in the DGNB Navigator - allowing you to provide the corresponding information to interested parties in a straightforward manner.
If the information regarding your products meets the DGNB requirements for data completeness and transparency, this transparency is recognized with the DGNB Navigator label, which can then be used in your communication.
How to access the DGNB Navigator
Would you like to present your products transparently and clearly to your target groups? As a manufacturer, you can register easily and free of charge in the DGNB Navigator and create your products in just 5 steps with the help of a clear input mask. Only when submitting the products for review by the DGNB will fees be incurred, depending on the number of products and the DGNB membership status.
Making your product accessible online in 5 steps:
- Provide general information regarding your product
- Enter certification-relevant product characteristics
- Add manufacturer information
- Add documents and web links
- Check summary
In principle it is possible to register individual products, but also product groups in the DGNB Navigator, in both German and English. You as the manufacturer decide on the scope of the information provided. You can list the individual products in the product description or the manufacturer information.
For more detailed information, please download our Guidelines for Manufacturers (currently only available in German).
After adding your products to the database, you are requested to transmit them to the DGNB. The DGNB Navigator team will check your details for completeness and plausibility. If anything is unclear, the DGNB team will contact you via the product note function. If your products also meet the DGNB requirements for transparency, your products will also be automatically assigned the DGNB Navigator label free of charge.
Please refer to the Styleguide if you want to learn more about the use of the DGNB Navigator logo and the DGNB Navigator label for your communication.
No product certification by the DGNB
Building products have a wide range of applications and must meet different requirements. A fundamental evaluation of construction products by the DGNB - for example through certification - is therefore excluded, as this would promote a preliminary decision in favour of a product without considering the corresponding installation situation in the building.
Therefore, no certifications of construction products can be found in the DGNB Navigator, but optimally broken down information on products and their properties - with a direct interface to DGNB certification. Based on this data transparency, architects and planners can select the right products for the respective application site.

Yes, this is possible. Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) provide verified and specific data on the environmental impact of a product. If these are not available, average and standard values from the free database "ökobau.dat" can be used as an alternative. Own calculations are also permissible, provided they comply with the normative requirements for the preparation of environmental product declarations.
Yes, it is also possible for non-members to add products to the DGNB Navigator. However, DGNB members can post three products free of charge and have advantages with regard to the fees.
You can become part of the DGNB community in just a few steps. To do so, fill out our membership application online and create an account for our internal area. In advance, you can take a look at the annual membership fees according to the revenue of your enterprise.
The DGNB Navigator team processes and verifies the product entry on a random basis. As the manufacturer, you are responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of the information. As soon as all questions have been clarified, your product profile will be published promptly and the publication will be communicated to you.
The review of a product takes about three weeks.
All instructions on how to use the logo and the label can be found in the DGNB Navigator Style Guide.
Please log in to your account and make the desired changes in your product profile. Use the communication function to document your changes in the product and then submit your product to the DGNB Navigator team for a new fee-free review. While being processed, your product can still be found in the DGNB Navigator with the previous status. For more information, see the guide for manufacturers.

DGNB Navigator label
Highest demands for transparency and data quality: This is what the DGNB Navigator label stands for. It is awarded to manufacturers who provide full data transparency for the relevant product - including all the information relevant for the DGNB System. This transparency gives all parties involved in the building project the necessary guidance to be able to make a conscious choice of products in terms of sustainability.
